After almost a year of waiting which seems like eternity, The Walking Dead is coming back for its much anticipated second season.
AMC’s critically acclaimed original TV series based on the comic book of the same title will feature 13 episodes as opposed to only six episodes in season one.
The Walking Dead follows a group of survivors, led by police officer Rick Grimes, played by Andrew Lincoln, who are traveling in search of a safe and secure home. Jon Bernthal plays Shane Walsh, Rick’s sheriff’s department partner before the apocalypse, and Sarah Wayne Callies is Rick’s wife, Lori Grimes.
Season two’s release date will be on Sunday, October 16 at 9PM ET on AMC. The premiere episode will be 90-minutes long.
One-hour episodes on the same time slot will be shown every Sunday thereafter until November 27 when the series will go on a brief hiatus.
The 90 minute premiere episode is also scheduled to be released globally on all Fox International Channels, following the US premiere the week of October 17-23. Season two reaches FOX audiences in 122 countries, speaking 35 languages and is seen by over 200 million households globally.
